Emerging Technologies Identified
Emerging Technologies Projects
Throughout the world, the water supply community is faced with many of the same problems. Advances are continuously being made in technologies for water supply, monitoring, distribution, and treatment. By sharing advances in these technologies, duplication of effort can be avoided.
Conducted biannually, the Emerging Technologies Seminars provide a forum to identify technologies that are emerging from the research arena and have been operationally applied or are ready to apply in the “real world.” Information is exchanged and research efforts on topics of mutual interest are coordinated.
Previous Emerging Technologies seminars have led to a number of cooperative efforts between the participating organizations. These efforts have included joint research reports, international workshops, research coordination committees, and formalized research partnerships.
This material allows users to quickly identify technologies that are emerging in other nations and could be applied to their situations.
Emerging Technologies XII is cosponsored by the Water Research Foundation (formerly known as Awwa Research Foundation or AwwaRF) and the Swiss Federal Institute of Aquatic Science and Technology (EAWAG). Representatives from thirteen nations participated in this effort.
