Contractor: American Water

Project Manager: Frank Blaha

Funded: 2007              Completion Year: 2011              Funding Amount: $100,000.00

Goal Area: Infrastructure

Benefits to the Drinking Water Supply Community:
Recent and recurring droughts in the United States make water leakage a high-priority public and political issue. Most U.S. water utilities, especially those with a high marginal cost of water, could reduce overall operating costs by investing in leakage-control technologies. Leakage management can help a utility operate its assets more effectively, reduce product loss, and decrease the need for new water supplies.
