The Swiss Federal Institute for Environmental Science & Technology (EAWAG). EAWAG's task as the national water research center of Switzerland is to ensure that concepts and technologies pertaining to the use of natural waters are continuously improved and ecological, economical and social aspects are brought into line. Its areas of research include: Water resources and drinking water, surface waters, analytical chemistry of the aquatic environment, environmental microbiology and molecular ecotoxicology, limnology, environmental engineering, and more.
